The combination of label-free optical biosensors and FluidFM BOT for cellular studies

    Label-free methods in life sciences are on the rise. To deeply understand cellular processes at the molecular scale one needs reliable kinetic and structural data, not affected by additional labeling. The Nanobiosensorics Laboratory focuses on the development and application of label-free optical biosensors and combines these technologies with single cell manipulation techniques. The short presentation overviews our research directions exploiting the FluidFM BOT technology in combination with microplate-based label-free optical biosensors to i) create cellular patterns on biomimetic surfaces ii) support complementary cell-adhesion data for single cells adhered on biosensor surfaces and iii) test novel coatings with multiple functionalities.
