Our FluidFM probes are pre-mounted on a plastic support. Depending on the system used, we offer the following options:
Although the microchip containing the cantilever and the glue are the same for all options, the plastic consumable varies depending on the system used. For the FluidFM BIO Series and some FluidFM AFM Series systems, the plastic consumable is made of Makrolon (polycarbonate). In some available probes for FluidFM AFM Series, the consumable is made of PMMA [poly(methyl methacrylate)].
Both, Makrolon and PMMA, are resistant to a wide range of compounds. Below, a list of compounds that can degrade FluidFM probes. Short dipping (seconds) of the probe is fine for most of these compounds, while longer exposure can be problematic:
FluidFM BIO Series and FluidFM AFM Series: Makrolon
FluidFM AFM Series systems: PMMA
In case you need to inject a compound that it is not specified on the list and in doubt of a possible damage to any components of the FluidFM system, do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com for assessment.
