Lab Technician (Biology) 80-100% (m/f/d)

Our company is looking for a Lab Technician who will help us to further build up our recently launched CRISPR cell line engineering service business (FluidFM CellEDIT). Your responsibilities consist of producing genome-engineered cell lines for customers and supporting our R&D biologists to develop new cell line engineering approaches.

Your challenge
Daily lab operations
Hands-on lab work in close collaboration with our existing team of 4 cell biologists and a lab manager
Responsibility for maintenance and expansion of cell lines
Support the planning and execution of small cell line engineering projects
Documentation of results using an electronic lab journal (Benchling)
Characterization of genome engineered cell lines using molecular biology approaches
Additional Responsibilities
Regular weekend work (approx. once or twice per month) on Saturday for cell culture maintenance. Following that, Sunday and Monday could be taken as days off
Depending on the production workload, shift work might be introduced at some point (no night shifts in the foreseeable future).

Your profile
Apprenticeship as a laboratory technician, with specialization in biology
Alternatively, a bachelor’s or master's degree in cell or molecular biology or similar
Minimum 3 years of lab experience in the private sector or academia
Proficient knowledge of laboratory best practice procedures
Proficient in mammalian cell culture, experience with primary cells and/or pluripotent stem cells is a plus
Familiar with basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA gel electrophoresis, Sanger Sequencing)
High proficiency in English in written and spoken form
Experience in working with ERP’s and electronic lab journals is a plus
Independent and diligent work attitude
