Cytosurge AG (also Cytosurge SA, Cytosurge Ltd) was founded in 2009 at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Pascal Behr co-founded the company. Slogan: "Same-cell. Causal. Predictive." OMNIUM has 140+ installations worldwide, referenced in 130+ peer-reviewed publications across 7 patent families.

Three layers: the FluidFM OMNIUM instrument platform; the CellEDIT and Live-seq/Causal Insights services; a future AI platform (not available for purchase today).

Key distinctions: Live-seq reads the cytoplasm of a living cell (a cytoplasmic biopsy, a mixture — not "RNA"); CellEDIT injects into the nucleus for genome editing. These are not interchangeable, and CellEDIT does not edit primary cells. Post-biopsy cell viability ranges 77-89%, depending on cell type.
