Designed for pharmacologists and molecular biologists, the FluidFM QUANT system delivers any drug into living, adherent cells, while allowing a precise quantification of the injected dose, to ultimately study its effects at single-cell level.

Overcome the selectivity of the cell membrane permeability in the early drug development phase, by directly delivering the drug into the intracellular environment.

Cells natural heterogeneity (e.g. size) causes the injected volume to substantially differ, even under identical experimental conditions. The system allows to review each single injection and to precisely quantify the injected volume into each single cell. Establish a direct relation between the delivered drug concentration and its effects.

Robust and direct dose-response assays facilitate compliance with the most demanding regulations.


Precisely select single cells based on their phenotype and deliver with the tiny FluidFM nanosyringe (aperture 600 nm) any kind of compounds in solution selectively into the nucleus or cytoplasm. The cell’s membrane instantaneously reseals when the nanosyringe is retracted, resulting in cell viability of over 95%.

When co-injected with a fluorescent marker, use this integrated software feature to precisely quantify how many femtoliters of the drug are added into the cell. The measurement after delivery, allows to know the true delivered volume, thus offering a robust method against natural cell-to-cell heterogeneity.

When a CO2-independent medium is not a viable option, control of the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere is crucial. Then, it is advisable to equip the incubator with CO2-control capabilities.

Observe how the injected compounds affect the targeted cells in the long-term: Our software records the XY-coordinates of the injected cells and allows the user long-term observation of the modified cells with the desired settings (fluorescence filter, exposure time etc…). Observe any point of interest and follow how events unfold with multi-channel time-lapses.

3. Follow up your experiment

Instruct the system to take the needed images with your favorite settings, in few clicks. See all relevant data grouped by the coordinates of each cell.

CONSUMABLE - FluidFM nanosyringe

Developed for injection into single cells: The very sharp apex and the around 600 nm aperture at the pyramidal tip of the FluidFM nanosyringe enable gentle injection not compromising cell viability and allow to work with compounds with several molecular weights and densities. The FluidFM nanosyringe can be loaded with any liquid with viscosities from 1 to 10000 cP (water to honey).
