Laboratory Technician (Biology) 100% (m/f/d)
Glattbrugg,
Switzerland
With CellEDIT, our genome engineering service, we use our proprietary FluidFM technology to inject CRISPR/Cas9 directly into the nucleus of individual living cells. This allows us to create custom cell lines with edits that conventional methods fail to achieve.
To help us scale, we are looking for an independent Laboratory Technician to support our CellEDIT Process Development team.
Due to the hands-on nature of our lab work and cell culture schedules, this position is only available at 100%.
Your Challenge
- Passage, expand, cryopreserve and monitor mammalian cell cultures (e.g. cancer cell lines, iPSCs and suspension cells)
- Independently plan and execute molecular biology experiments
- Troubleshoot experiments and technical issues
- Meticulously document experiments and results in our electronic lab notebook (ELN)
- Take on general lab management duties, including ordering, inventory, stocking and aliquoting of reagents
- Proactively communicate results and issues to the team in a timely manner
- Provide wet-lab support across different projects
Your Profile
- Completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician or a master’s degree in cell biology, molecular biology or a related field
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a cell biology laboratory; industry experience is a strong advantage
- Solid experience in mammalian cell culture with different cell lines (experience with iPSCs and/or suspension cells is a plus)
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, genotyping and sequencing (Sanger and NGS)
- Ability to independently troubleshoot unexpected results and proactively find solutions
- Strong organizational skills and a diligent way of working in the lab
- A team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting different projects
- High proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Our Offer
- Far-reaching responsibilities and the opportunity to actively shape the success of our CellEDIT process and product development business
- Working with a unique technology on a groundbreaking new approach to generate engineered cell lines
- A structured goal setting and execution framework based on Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s)
- Innovative environment where your ideas are welcome and needed
- High growth potential
